21 cities join BLS in first half of 2021

BLS is continuing its award-winning work to add new Washington state cities and towns to its free licensing administration system. The service added 21 municipal partnerships in the first half of 2021 with another 17 cities set to join before 2022. In June, the cities of Vader, Cosmopolis, and Waitsburg connected commerce with neighboring cities and dozens of state licensing programs. Next month, Bremerton will join as the 175th municipal partner and the last link for local licensing on the Olympic Peninsula.

Agency program stakeholder outreach this summer

The BLS Partnership Services Team will be reaching out to agency partners in summer 2021 to set stakeholder meetings for each agency program that uses the BLS system for license administration. Send questions or suggestions to dorblspartner@dor.wa.gov

Applicants will see updated screens for city licensing

Applicants are asked if they will travel to
another city when starting a new business.
Revenue completed its June ATLAS system enhancement which improved the flow and simplified the steps of the Business License Application in My DOR. Applicants are prompted to answer resident city questions prior to non-resident city questions. City and town partner staff will not see any change in processing license applications.

BLS & Revenue closed on July 5
