Rivers run through it: Wenatchee goes with the BLS flow

The Columbia River flows through hundreds of miles of farmland and orchards on its way to the Pacific. Tons of grain, fruits, and other commodities that start on the Columbia Plateau travel to markets by way of Wenatchee. Today, this Chelan County commercial center is converging with the state Business Licensing Service.

Dubbed the Apple Capital of the World, Wenatchee is located where the eponymous river merges with the Columbia. The city is the headquarters of the largest fresh market shipper of sweet cherries on the planet. Home to 35,000 full-time residents, Wenatchee welcomes visitors each spring for its annual Apple Blossom Festival.

The city joins neighbors Cashmere, East Wenatchee, and Leavenworth in the BLS network of municipal partners. Nearby Chelan, Entiat, and Waterville join in 2020.

Welcome, City of Wenatchee. You are the apple of our eye.
