November 2020 BLS Partner Update

Remote support available while offices are closed 

Please tell your customers that Revenue services are available remotely while offices remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Services are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Relief from penalties extended

The state Business Licensing Service (BLS) is still waiving late filing penalties under the extension of the governor's Proclamation 20-20 through December 7, 2020. The Department of Revenue maintains updated business relief information at dor.wa.gov/taxrelief.

New GovDelivery service helps you keep up on agency news

The Department of Revenue has updated its list-serv options with the GovDelivery service that helps public employees, businesses, and tax professionals keep up with important information.

Users can manage text or email notifications for Revenue news, reporting dates, rate changes, new laws, and much more. It's customizable for each user. Unsubscribing from texts and emails is easy, too.

My DOR unavailable overnight Monday, November 16

My DOR and related services will be unavailable from 6 p.m. Monday, November 16 until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17 for scheduled maintenance.

Local government links compiled on Revenue website

The Department of Revenue Local Government web page is a great starting point to find tax information affecting Washington cities, counties and designated taxing districts. Bookmark https://dor.wa.gov/localgovernment for links to local tax rates, updated rules, upcoming meetings, and links to local licensing information.

More local partners added this fall

Eight more local partners will join the business licensing partnership in the next two months. The cities listed below will bring the number of BLS partners to more than150. About 60 more cities are slated to streamline local licensing with Revenue's free service partnership over the next two years.
