Annual notification to city and town partners
BLS is again sending emails
to all partners in August. The annual
notice asks about planned changes to your licensing fees, requirements, and
regulatory processes. State law requires that BLS be notified at
least 75 days before municipal licenses are changed. For example:
Raising a city license application fee from $40 to $50 as of January 2022 requires written notice by mid-October.
BLS adds Bremerton, two other cities in July
BLS is passing an Olympic Peninsula torch this summer as Bremerton joins
the local licensing partnership. Every incorporated Olympic Peninsula city that
issues an annual business license is now connected to the state’s premier
one-stop. North Bonneville on the lower Columbia River and South Prairie west
of Mount Rainier also join BLS in July. More than a dozen more municipalities
will join through December, including Moxee on August 12. See the list of nearly 180 local partners here.
Local government partnership documents available
The Local Government Partnership meeting was online again in 2021. Documents from the July 22 meeting are available at dor.wa.gov/lgpmeeting. Sign up for future Local Government Partnership
information with Revenue's mailing lists for both SMS/text or email subscriptions.
Agency program stakeholder outreach this summer
The BLS Partnership Services Team
will lead its agency stakeholder meeting series this summer to streamline
communication between BLS and partners’ programs. Questions? Email dorblspartner@dor.wa.gov.
